Letter to fans: October 25, 2015
Shameless Pursuiters,
The band has been arguing over who gets to send this letter for the last 3 days. Ultimately, the band was kind enough to let me (Jeff) have the honor of writing this to you.
When I was 9, I came across my cousin’s old copies of “Guitar World Magazine”. Needless to say I was fascinated, and the only way my parents could shut me up was to give in and let me have a guitar. So that Christmas, I got a ¾ size nylon string getup and an agreement for my cousin to give me a lesson every other week.
The first song I learned was “Smoke on the Water” – Deep Purple. I was in love.
Fast forward 18 years and here we are, record in hand and a t-shirt with our name on it. I have been asked several times over the last week how it feels, and I’m struggling to describe it any other way than a dream come true! We put a lot of hard work into the EP we released last Friday, and we are proud Papas!
We would not have anything to celebrate without you, our friends, family, and fans being so encouraging and generous through this first leg of the journey. We have the same goal as many of you, to leave the world a little more beautiful than when we got here. Last Friday was an amazing experience, and your willingness to support us, even during game 6 of the ALCS, was very special.
With that said, a toast! We raise our glasses to you. Thank you for all the support, for celebrating in such an engaging way last Friday, and for being awesome people! May we continue to grow together!
Cheers!
Jeff, Jon, and Ricky
